Thanks to everyone that attended our Back To School Night! It was a great success. I loved seeing our students taking their family on a tour of the school. Even our littlest learners 'owned' their learning environment, as they showed-off their school.
Additional thanks to the families that joined us for the Standards Based Grading Presentations. Additional Information can be found by clicking the link above. Literacy is a top priority at Crossroads! Our literacy committee has been hard at work! Our team met in August, and on September 1st, we 'kicked off' our literacy challenge with the theme: Ready, Set, Read!
Each grade level met in the auditorium to learn about the challenge. The student's heard quarterback, Tim Tebow read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss on the big screen. (It was a recorded event we found on the internet.) Then the students learned about our first whole-school challenge. We will be working on building stamina, and students can earn an opportunity to read to someone special or read with someone special! Finally, we ended with a class challenge. Each class was given a puzzle to put together in a relay style race. It was a fun, exciting day! Students and teachers are ready to take on the stamina challenge! |
